Award for best entrepreneurship education (Best teaching practices) in National competition with eight other universities, by USASBE. February 2001.

Las Americas hall of Fame Award for outstanding contributions to the small business community, for helping to build Washington, DC's inner city, and for improving the social economic conditions in low income neighborhoods. April 2001.

Greater Washington Entrepreneur of the Year, June 1999. Awarded by Ernst & Young. One of three finalists at National level. November 1999.

Greater Washington entrepreneur of the Year - Finalist - 1997. Ernst & Young.

Elevated to Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year Hall of Fame as a lifetime member. November 1999.

National Model Undergraduate program Award. 2nd place, USASBE, 2000 Program. Was a finalist in 1998.

Received award for "The Best Entrepreneurial MBA Program". GWU was the only recipient of the award in the country. Presented by the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE). 1996.
