Special Departmental Honors

Undergraduate biology majors may graduate with Special Departmental Honors if they meet academic requirements and complete a research project. Honors students must maintain a cumulative 3.5 grade point average in biological science courses and at least a 3.0 cumulative overall grade point average. Qualifying students will submit a written proposal outlining their experimental research project and then complete the project under the direction of a faculty member. The results of these projects, typically completed in the senior year, will be a written honors thesis and an oral presentation to the entire departmental faculty.
