GWeb PINs
In order to authenticate yourself when logging on to the GWeb Information
System, you must have a valid user ID and PIN.
Generated PINs
For first-time users, your PIN will consist of a variant of your date
of birth, according to one of the two formats below:
1. The two-digit month, last two digits of the year of birth, and the
number 99. For example, a PIN for someone born on March 17, 1984 would
be 038499.
2. The two-digit month, two-digit day, and last two digits of the year
of birth. For example, a PIN for someone born on March 17, 1984 would
be 031784.
You will be forced to change your PIN and set up a security question
the first time you access the system.
PLEASE NOTE: After
three unsuccessful attempts to log in to GWeb Info System, your account
will be locked, and you must contact Banner Security at 202-994-0567.
Forgotten PINs
Follow one of these methods if you have forgotten your PIN.
Method 1: Security Question
When you log in to the GWeb Information System for the first time,
you are prompted to set up a security question and answer. This allows
you to retrieve your PIN by answering the question without contacting
Banner Applications. It is very important that you set this question
to be something you can readily remember, yet it should also be unique.
For example, using "Type the word blue" is not a secure security
question.
To use this message, access the GWeb Info System. Enter your user ID,
and then click the "Forgot PIN" button. The system will display
your security question. If you submit the correct answer, you will be
forced to create a new PIN.
Method 2: PIN Fetcher
This method is available only if you have an @gwu.edu
e-mail address.
Go to https://my.gwu.edu/pin/pin.cfm
to access the PIN fetcher. Answer the required questions. If you answer
the questions accurately, then your PIN will be retrieved and displayed.
Method 3: Contact Banner Security
Use this method only after trying Methods 1 and 2.
To have your PIN reset to your date of birth (MMDDYY), please fax a
request for PIN reset to the attention of Banner Security at 202-994-0722.
Include a copy of your GWorld card (or a government-issued ID), a signed
request to reset your PIN, the last four digits of your User ID, and
a phone number at which you can be reached.
For questions, please call 202-994-0567.
