All events listed here take place in the Lerner Health and Wellness Center Multi-Purpose Room. Sunday On Sunday, we are proud to offer three levels of classes for GW students interested in ballroom dance. 1:00-1:45 Beginner
Classs
These are open with
absolutely no
restrictions based on experience, partner, etc. If you want
to
learn how to ballroom dance, this is where to begin!
1:45-2:30 Advanced
Bronze Class
These
classes will
encompass middle to advanced Bronze steps and technique. This
class is referred to as advanced because it's meant to be a challenege
even to someone who is moderately familiar with the Bronze Syllabus.
2:30-3:15 Silver/Gold Technique ClassThis class will
focus on
mid-Silver to low Gold technique and is geared towards dancers who are
currently dancing at the silver level and are looking to move on to
Gold.
3:15-4:00 Open Practice SpaceWe have the
multipurpose room
until 4:00, so after the last class ends, if you have paid for
attending a class that day, you are free to make use of the space to
practice. You are allowed to use the space to practice during
the
earlier times, but classes have the first right to the space.
The cost of taking
one class for the semester is $40.
If you are taking
either the
Bronze class or the Silver/Gold class, you can pay an additional $20 to
take the other of those two classes.
You can pay $8 to
take one class for that day. Every time you do this, it
counts towards your $40 or $20 for the semester.
Monday Practice Space: 10:30-12:15 Everyone who has
paid for a class
the previous Sunday is welcome to take advantage of our practice space
on Monday nights. This includes a 10-15 minute warm-up and a
45
minute beginner lesson taught by some of our intermediate and advanced
dancers for those who wish to take part.
Wednesday Competition Team Meeting/Practice Space: 10:30-12:15Those who are
members of the
competition team can also come to our Wednesday night practice space.
Once again, for those who wish to take part, there will be a
10-15 minute warm-up and 45 minutes of beginner instruction led by some
of our intermediate and advanced dancers.
Competition team dues are $35 per semester. |
