Walter Cannon received his B.A., M.A., and M.D. from Harvard University in 1896, 1897, and 1900 respectively. He then went on to become the George Higginson Professor of Psysiology at Harvard in 1906. He held the position until 1942. Cannon was known as a pioneer in the fields of x-ray analysis, as well as trauma shock research. He passed away on October 1, 1945.
