Cultural unity can be reached through defining a universal aim.
Therfore, the problem of the cultural untiy of man is the creation of the conditions that define a collection of human beings as a cultural unity. This can be attained in a non-coercive manner only by defining a fundamental aim valid for all men through their biological unity such that its pursuit leads to experiences that make these men desire its aim. The attainment of cultural (ethical) unity in man, then, is not a problem for science as we usually understand it, but is a problem in the art of living. (CS 464)
