Katherine Williams, Ph.D., ATR-BC, Associate Professor Emerita
Katherine is an art therapist and psychologist in private practice. She has published articles on art therapy education and the application of self-psychology to art therapy theory and practice; and is a member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association. Precipient of the Distinguished Service Award of the American Art Therapy Association, 2000. A scholarship, the Katherine J. Williams Fund, was set up in her honor when she retired from the role as director. The Fund supports diversity in scholarship and the recruitment of graduate students in the Art Therapy Program.

Edith Kramer, ATR-BC, HLM, Adjunct Associate Professor
Edith Kramer is known as one of the founders of the field of American art therapy, and we are delighted to have had her as a member of our faculty for many years. Edith teaches the Psychodynamic Processes course, a unique opportunity for our students. Awarded, by the American Art Therapy Association as a mark of its highest esteem, the designation "Honorary Life Member," Edith has also received an honorary doctorate from Norwich University. She is the author of the seminal books Art as Therapy with Children and Child Art Therapy. "That she is an artist, first, last, and always, is known to all of you. That she writes magnificently, clearly, and courageously, is known by any of you who have read her writings" said art therapist Dr. Laurie Wilson of Edith in 1996. Edith maintains a studio where she paints, etches, and sculpts. She specializes in art therapy with children and adolescents.
