Deni is the Director of the Ivymount High School in Rockville, Maryland. The Ivymount School is a nonpublic day school serving students ages 4-21 with Developmental Delays, Learning Disabilities, Communication Disorders, Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and Multiple Disabilities. Deni has over 17 years of experience in mental health and education. She has been part of the GW Art Therapy faculty since 1995 as has taught the following courses: Survey of Art Therapy, Introduction to Art Therapy, The Principles and Practices of Art Therapy with Adolescents, Art Therapy in the Schools and, Counseling/Art Therapy Process I. Deni has been both a field supervisor and a faculty supervisor.

A primary focus of Deni's work has been with adolescents that are emotionally disturbed. Deni is presently in the research phase of her doctorate from GW in Education and Policy Studies. Her current research involves looking at potential connections among creativity, academic achievement and defiant behavior. Deni is also in private practice and specializes in work with children and adolescents, adult self growth work and art therapy group and individual supervision.
