Application Deadline
Candidates are advised to begin preparing their applications in the Fall before they hope to enter the program, and to submit applications in late December or early January. You should take the GRE at least 4 weeks prior to the application deadline. To be considered for University-sponsored financial support, complete applications (transcripts, letters of recommendation, GRE scores, and digital images or slides of artwork) must be received by January 15. The final deadline for applications is February 1st. If slides are submitted, candidates are asked to submit then in slide sleeves.

While the Art Therapy Program considers applications throughout the year, admitted students begin classes in the Fall semester because of the sequence of coursework and internship requirements. Potential students are welcome to contact the program to discuss their candidacy any time during the year. Informational sessions are held once a month, contact the program for times and location.

Students to whom English is a foreign language may find it to their advantage to begin the application process one semester earlier. English courses, prerequisites, and some art therapy courses may be taken during the spring semester. Local residency will also allow international students to participate fully in the spring internship application process.
