The Program: Graduate Funding

PhD Funding
The American Studies Department offers fellowships, teaching and research assistantships for PhD students, who are typically funded for four or five years. Previous doctoral students have been successful in winning fellowhips for dissertation work.
Additionally, the University's Office of Fellowships and Graduate Student Support also assists students in locating funding opportunities.

dies matriculates in American Studies under the supervision of David Bjelajac, Professor of Art History and American Studies. MA Funding
A few tuition-remission awards are made to MA students, but most MA students finance the degree with loans; University employment, which carries tuition benefits; and part-time work, often in jobs pertinent to their professional goals. Additionally, the University's Office of Fellowships and Graduate Student Support also assists students in locating funding opportunities.
