Brian
Santana
Brian
is a third year PhD candidate in American Studies. His research
fields include: 19th-Century American Literature (with a particular
emphasis on the work of Herman Melville), American Cultural History
(1840-present), and Visual Studies.
Before
coming to GWU, he graduated from North Carolina State University
with a M.A. in English and from the University of North Carolina
at Asheville with a B.A. in Theatre History/Criticism.
In
his spare time, Brian pursues his love of Japanese language/culture
and martial arts. He holds ranks in both JKA Karate and Kodokan
Judo.
