New York City
Alumni Chapter

Greetings,

I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome all New Yorkers – recent grads and NYC veterans – to the New York Regional Alumni Chapter. With over 11,000 alumni in the metropolitan area, the opportunity to connect with old friends and/or to make new ones is overwhelming.

The job of the NY Regional Alumni Chapter is to plan events for alumni of all ages and interests. Some recent activities include:

  • Happy hour at Metropol, an alumni-owned bar in Manhattan
  • Participation in NY Cares Day, helping to refurbish a public school in Brooklyn
  • Wine tasting at the Princeton Club
  • Basketball watch parties
  • Political debates
  • Business lectures
  • Comedy night at Caroline’s with six other college alumni groups (Duke, Cornell, Brown, Columbia, Emory and Georgetown)

I hope you’ll join us for some (or all) of our programs and become a part of the GW family here in New York. To receive emails about our upcoming events, please register on this site for the GW Alumni Online Community and be sure to maintain updated addresses and phone numbers. Additionally, check back on this site to view the listing of upcoming events.

In addition to fantastic programming, the chapter is also pleased to offer an affiliate membership program with The Princeton Club of New York. More information regarding this program can be found at http://www.gwu.edu/~alumni/benefits/princeton.html

We’re always looking for new suggestions for events and volunteers to help plan them, so please feel free to contact me directly if you have an idea to share.

I look forward to seeing you at our next event!
Heather Malkin (CCAS ‘97, GWSB ‘99)
