The GW Black Alumni Association invites alumni to the following events during Alumni Weekend, September 25-28. All members of the GW Community are welcome to attend.

Kerry Washington Interview

Professor Leslie Jacobson will interview award-winning actress Kerry Washington, CCAS BA '98, about her acting career and her GW experience.

We will be honoring three distinguished GW Black Alumni:

  • Jeanette Michael, LAW JD ’75, (GWBAA-DC) is the executive director of the D.C. Lottery and Charitable Games Control Board. She is the founder of GW Black Law Alumni Association and serves on the GW Board of Trustees.

  • Judge Darrin P. Gayles, LAW JD ’93, (GWBAA-South Florida) was appointed to the County Court of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida by Governor Jeb Bush in 2004. He takes active interest in local colleges, as well as in spreading awareness about HIV prevention.

  • Jeff Gardere, CCAS PhD ’84, (GWBAA-NY/NJ) wears many hats, from senior vice president of Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate Development to in-house doctor for the Maury Povich Show. With a master’s degree in real estate from Columbia University, he is also “The Real Estate Doctor” for The Fox Business Network.

Enjoy the live jazz sounds while eating your favorite brunch items. Afterwards enjoy the famous Corcoran Gallery of Art Museum
