Alumni Play Leading Roles at Political Conventions

Former Virginia Governor Mark Warner, CCAS BA ’77, delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday, Aug. 26. Click here to read the text or view video of Warner’s speech. Other alumni speaking at the Democratic National Convention included U.S. Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV), LAW JD ’64 and U.S. Rep. Robert Wexler (D-FL), LAW JD ’85.

More than 40 alumni, students, faculty, and friends gathered for “GW at the DNC” at Cru Wine Bar in Denver on the evening of Tuesday, Aug. 26.

GW will also be well represented at the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis-Saint Paul. Among those serving the McCain-Palin campaign are Maria Comella, ESIA BA ’03, spokesperson for Vice Presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin, and Mark SooHoo, CCAS BA ’02, deputy eCampaign Director for John McCain 2008.
