April 13
GW alumni and their families gather for a Private Tour of Fenway Park, including visits to the press box, the new Green Monster seating, and the right field roof deck.

May 8
Members of the Senior Class Gift Committee presented Nelson Carbonell, CCAS BS ’85, vice chairman of the Board of Trustees and chairman of the board’s development committee, with a check for more than $36,600 to launch the GW Spirit Fund.
In late September members of the senior class voted to create the Class of 2008 GW Spirit Fund, an endowed fund administered by the GW Spirit Program that will help underwrite events designed to support the university’s athletic teams and increase overall campus spirit. A record number of seniors (24 percent) donated to the Senior Class Gift.

May 13
Alumni, administrators, and donors gathered to honor the Robert H. Smith and Charles E. Smith Family Foundations and Robert P. and Arlene R. Kogod, who are committing $10 million toward the renovation of the Charles E. Smith Center, the largest single philanthropic gift in the history of the university.

May 16
GW hosted a Commencement Legacy Family Reception to honor graduating students and their families who share a legacy connection. The university recognizes legacy families as students and alumni whose family, including parents, grandparents and/or siblings, attended or currently attend GW.
