GW has a long-standing tradition of helping others and this year many alumni, doctors, faculty, staff, student groups, and friends of GW are continuing this tradition by participating together in the 2008 National Race for the Cure as the GW Colonials for the Cure Team. The following GW groups are already participating: GW Cancer Institute, Public Health Alumni Association, Public Health Student Association, GW Alumni Association, GW Division of Development and Alumni Relations, MFA Breast Care Center, and the GWU-UHS Hospital.
Race for the Cure runners and walkers dedicate their efforts to raising awareness and significant funds for the fight against breast cancer, while celebrating cancer survivorship and honoring those who have lost their battle to this disease. The race takes place on the morning of Saturday, June 7 on the National Mall and both runners and walkers are welcome to participate in the 5K Race.
To join our GW Colonials for the Cure Team, visit the team page and click on "Join Our Team". To find in-person registration locations in and around Washington, DC, click here. All those racing with the GW Colonials for the Cure Team will receive complimentary t-shirts.
The GW Alumni Association will host our second annual post-race brunch at Alumni House. If you race with another team you are still welcome to join us for the brunch. More information on the race, our team and the post-race brunch is available on our website.
