GW SOUTH ASIAN ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
The Office of Alumni Relations is continuing to expand the area of multicultural alumni groups and looking to establish the GW South Asian Alumni Association! The goal of the South Asian Alumni Association will be to build community, network, and reconnect South Asian alumni to GW.
An initial planning and strategy meeting was held at Alumni House on April 30 to discuss the goals of this association and decide on the next steps. The first event will be on June 17, 2008, so save the date. If you have questions or if you want to be involved, contact Mark Forrest, associate director of clubs & groups, email@example.com, or Trupti Patel, alumni volunteer, firstname.lastname@example.org, for more information!
GW LGBT ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
As a follow-up to the first steering committee meeting, the Office of Alumni Relations is looking for all alumni to help in forming the GW LGBT Alumni Association. A planning and strategy meeting was held on May 6, 2008 at 6 p.m. at the Alumni House. Topics discussed included the direction of the association and possible events, which included activity and/or events during Pride Weekend as well as DC Black Pride.
We want all interested alumni involved in the development of this association! If you are interested, or if you want to nominate someone to serve on the committee, please contact Mark Forrest, associate director of clubs & groups, at email@example.com or Rudy Alvarez ’04 at firstname.lastname@example.org. Check the LGBT Alumni Reunion page for updates.
