GW ALUMNI – JOIN THE DARTMOUTH CLUB OF FRANCE FOR A CONCERT
The Dartmouth Club of France cordially invites GW alumni to a concert "Lyricism in the Viennese Tradition," on Saturday, March 15. Is 20th century music not usually your thing? Let the Jade Quartet of Stuttgart and soprano Evelyn Chih-Yih Chan show you otherwise!
Saturday, March 15
8 p.m.
The American Cathedral of Paris
23, Avenue George V
75008 Paris
Metro: George V, Alma Marceau
(Note: This is not the American Church on quai d'Orsay)
The Jade String Quartet of Stuttgart, Germany, is a prize winner of numerous competitions, including Osaka 2006, and they are featuring guest artist Evelyn Chih-Yih Chan, soprano and co-president of the Dartmouth Club of France. The program will include Mozart’s String Quartet in G major, Anton Webern’s Langsamer Satz (1905), Schoenberg’s Quartet No. 2 with soprano solo (1908), and Karl Weigl’s Five Songs for soprano and string quartet (1934).
This event is free for alumni, and you do not need to register to attend. Following the concert, the artists and guests will gather for a drink or a bite to eat at the Café Grand Corona at 3 place d'Alma Marceau. For more information, e-mail the Dartmouth Club of France.
