On Feb. 9, nine former athletes and coaches were announced as the 2008 class of the GW Athletic Hall of Fame. The “Class of 2008” is the 47th elected class since the University’s Hall was founded in 1959 with seven inaugural members. This year’s inductees included letter winners in soccer, rowing, basketball, tennis, swimming, and the first gymnast inductee. 

The inductees are:

• Aquil Abdullah – Men’s Rowing, ’92-’96
• Lisa Cermignano – Women’s Basketball, ’93-’97
• Dave Haggerty – Men’s Tennis, ’75-’79
• Mike Jarvis – Men’s Basketball Coach, ’90-’98
• Colleen (McCrea) Maguire – Women’s Basketball, ’93-’97
• Devin McCalla – Gymnastics, ’99-’02
• Linda Miller – Women’s Rowing, ’93-’94
• Chad Senior – Men’s Swimming, ’93-’97
• Marcelo Valencia – Men’s Soccer, ’91-’94
