From governors to senators to Cabinet secretaries, if you graduated from The George Washington University, it’s not unlikely that you have embarked on a career in politics. In order to provide professional development and networking opportunities to these graduates in government, GW has announced the formation of an Alumni in Politics group. Group members also will work to provide both financial and programmatic support to the advancement of political educational programs within the University.
“GW has 14 alumni serving as members of Congress and thousands of our alumni working in local, state, and federal politics,” said Seth Rosenzweig, BBA '01, director of Leadership Annual Giving. “The Alumni in Politics group will serve as a vital forum for all alumni – both recent and established – to connect, exchange ideas, and open doors for new opportunities.”
Membership in the Alumni in Politics group is free for alumni, friends, and parents of who are involved in politics. The group will have quarterly events and access to a dedicated website that includes directories, job postings, and blogs.
The Alumni in Politics group will host its first event on Wednesday, March 26 at Old Ebbitt Grill from 6 to 8:30 pm. Click here to register for this event. For information on joining the Alumni in Politics group, contact Mark Forrest at clubs@gwu.edu or 202-994-3293.
