GW Inducts Two Alumni into
Sports Executive Hall of Fame

David Falk, LAW JD ’75 with Steven Schooner,
GW Law senior associate dean.

Jerry Reinsdorf, GWSB BBA ’57, with Susan Phillips,
GW School of Business dean.

Two prominent sports executives – David Falk, LAW JD ’75, founder and CEO of F.A.M.E. and a professional sports agent; and Jerry Reinsdorf, GWSB BBA ’57, chairman of the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox – were inducted into the School of Business Sports Executive Hall of Fame January 22.

The two prominent executives discussed their careers in sports management, experiences working together, and time spent at GW.

“I think the four years spent here were probably the most important of my life,” Reinsdorf said.

Falk and Reinsdorf frequently crossed paths in their careers due to Chicago Bulls basketball star Michael Jordan, whom Falk represented.

“Whether he was the greatest basketball player is debatable, but he was undoubtedly the greatest competitor in the history of the league,” Falk said.

GW's School of Business instituted the Sports Executive Hall of Fame in 2007 to recognize the achievements of alumni and provide an opportunity for students to gain insight from leaders in the sports management industry. The 2007 GW Sports Executive Hall of Fame inductees were Ted Lerner, AA ’48, LLB ’50, Washington Nationals managing principal owner; Randy Levine BA ’77, New York Yankees president; and Sam Perlozzo BS ’73, Seattle Mariners third base coach and former Baltimore Orioles manager. GW has more than 300 alumni working in sports management and has established itself as a global leader in preparing sport management executives.
