The George Washington Alumni Association’s Distinguished Alumni Service Award recognizes volunteer alumni service to the University (both locally and regionally), to the GW Alumni Association, to any of the constituent alumni organizations, and to the community at large. The GWAA Awards Committee is accepting open nominations of individuals who merit consideration for this award.

Additionally, we are accepting nominations for the first annual Jane Lingo Distinguished Alumni Service Award. Jane Lingo, BA ’46, was a lifelong member of The George Washington University family until she passed away in March 2007. Jane was a dedicated alumna, staff member, and friend of the University. To honor her memory and spirit, President Emeritus Stephen Joel Trachtenberg and the George Washington Alumni Association have created this award, which will be awarded annually to a faculty or staff member who is also an alumnus/a of the University, who consistently advances the mission of the University through dedicated volunteer efforts in support of its programs.

If you have previously nominated alumni who have not been selected as recipients, please feel free to resubmit the nomination with updated supporting information. In order to allow sufficient time to consider nominees, nominations for both awards are due on or before October 24, 2007. Nominations received after this date may not be considered.
