We’re just one month into the New Year, and already two phenomenal events have brought alumni together on GW’s Foggy Bottom Campus.
Sports were the flavor of the month in January as alumni and friends of the University rubbed elbows with GW alumni Ted Lerner, owner of the Washington Nationals baseball team; Randy Levine, president of the New York Yankees; and Sam Perlozzo, manager of the Baltimore Orioles. The three inaugural inductees into the GW School of Business Sports Executives Hall of Fame spoke in a panel format about what the future holds for Major League Baseball. Their intriguing insight into the world of baseball captivated all who attended.
The very next evening, at Alumni Night, more than 100 alumni attended a tailgate before the Colonials Men’s Basketball game against rival St. Joe’s, which ended in a cliffhanger victory for GW in the last few minutes of play. Alumni received free t-shirts and were even featured in halftime promotions, such as the JetBlue shootout.
The rest of the year is packed with even more exciting alumni events and opportunities for you around the country, so keep your eyes open for what’s coming next – it will be listed right here in the Colonial Cable. I look forward to seeing you at the next alumni event that interests you!
Warm regards,
