The approaching new year finds us in the midst of honoring President Stephen Joel Trachtenberg as he makes the transition to President Emeritus and University Professor of Public Service. Throughout the 2006-2007 academic year, a series of receptions in his honor is being held for alumni and friends of the University across the United States and abroad.
The turnout has been a remarkable expression of loyalty to President Trachtenberg’s nearly two decades of exemplary leadership. Hundreds of GW alumni, parents, and friends have joined him in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Madrid to share memories and discuss future plans. At each event, President Trachtenberg has taken up the microphone to express his gratitude, and opened up the floor for questions and dialogue about GW’s next steps.
If you can, please join us for one of the lively celebrations yet to come:
Hong Kong, December 12
Fort Lauderdale, February 15
San Diego, March 20
Los Angeles, March 21
San Francisco, March 22
Baltimore, April 11
Washington, DC, April 18
In case you haven’t already heard, many GW supporters have decided to recognize the President’s accomplishments on behalf of GW with a contribution to the Legacy of Excellence Campaign. What a great way to invest in GW’s future while honoring the past.
I’d like to extend my deepest thanks to all of you who have supported GW this calendar year with donations not only of funding but also of time. Your continued hand in the operations and development of our University are what make it the leading institution it is today.
Warm regards and happy holidays,

Scott M. Mory, BA ’96, JD ’99
Assistant Vice President for Alumni Relations and Annual Giving
