JOIN AN ALUMNI INTRAMURAL SOFTBALL TEAM!
Got skills on the diamond? The George Washington Alumni Association is organizing softball teams for the spring and summer. Both leagues are social leagues. One has an extended season playing weekly (weeknights and weekends) from mid-April to mid-August. The other league has a short season, playing 10 games, and starts in mid-June.

There will be a fee to join both teams (to be determined). Please e-mail Amit
Shashidharan at amitasd@fbw.com if you are interested in participating. The deadline to register for the extended season is April 15 and the deadline to register for the short season is May 1. Please include “softball-extended” or “softball-short” in the subject line of your e-mail.

CANCER INSTITUTE GALA – FRIDAY, APRIL 7
The GW Medical Center hosts the third annual Cancer Institute Gala, which raises funds for high quality cancer resources and programming in prevention, patient care, research, policy work, and education. This years gala honors Sam Donaldson, Dr. LaSalle D. Leffall Jr., and Nueva Vida.

OPENING RECEPTION FOR ANNA HUNTINGTON STANLEY: A 19TH CENTURY ARTISTS JOURNEY
On display from April 3 through May 1 during regular library hours, this exhibition showcases the paintings, sketches, and illustrated letters of Anna Huntington Stanley, a recently discovered, gifted American artist of the late 1800s.

MAIDA WITHERS: A CHOREOGRAPHERS LIFE – A PHOTOGRAPHIC AND VIDEO EXHIBIT OF HER CREATIVE WORKS
Through photographs, costumes, and video, A Choreographers Life showcases Maida Withers and her history as artistic director of the Dance Construction Company, along with local and international collaborators. The exhibition celebrates work created over 40 years when Withers began to perform and choreograph in the nations capital.

WORLD PREMIERE OF THRESHOLDS CROSSED – DANCE PRODUCTION AT LISNER AUDITORIUM
Thresholds Crossed is a multimedia performance that explores the events, ideology, and humanistic issues that link the U.S. with the former Soviet Union and the current Russia. With this project, the Dance Construction Company celebrates its 30th anniversary.

Founded 30 years ago by Maida Withers and four GW graduates – Brook Andrews, John Bailey, Betty Tittsworth, and JoAnn Sellars – The Dance Construction Company was designed to create and produce original dance and multimedia productions.
