CALL FOR PAPERS FOR WOMENS LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

The 2006 Elizabeth Somers Womens Leadership Conference: Listen, Speak, Act!, will be held on April 7 on the Mount Vernon Campus. The fourth annual Womens Leadership Conference turns the spotlight on women who have courageously spoken up for their beliefs, and includes a keynote speaker, skill-building workshops, a book and author luncheon, and a closing panel discussion.

Educators and students are encouraged to submit academic papers for the peer review session. Papers should present original research or critical analysis. Appropriate topics include models for educating the next generation of women leaders; aspects of leadership style as it relates to gender; women as agents of change; the ethical leader; social and cultural challenges to womens leadership, and common aspects of leadership by women across the world.

Submissions must include the following:

  • Name, e-mail address, institution, address, and paper title;
  • Abstract of 300 words maximum;
  • Internet and audio-visual requirements necessary for the session.

Authors will be notified by February 1 of the status of their submission. Authors are expected to register for the conference. Printed versions of the paper will be made available to all attendees. The deadline for papers is January 15. They should be submitted online to sheller@gwu.edu. Receipt of submission will be confirmed via e-mail.
