Last season the GW men’s basketball team won the Atlantic 10 Conference championship by outplaying the Saint Joe's Hawks. From there the team went on to the NCAA Tournament where they played Georgia Tech.

On November 3 the men’s team was named “the team to beat,” according to a poll of the Atlantic 10’s head coaches and media, and was ranked number 21 by the Associated Press and number 24 by the USAToday/ESPN Coaches’ Poll. With Xavier, Richmond, Dayton, and now Saint Louis and Charlotte joining the A-10 Conference, this promises to be an exhilarating season for the Colonials.
