Jacob G. "Bumper" Hornberger (Libertarian Party).
Current Founder and president of The Future of Freedom Foundation, a Virginia-based educational foundation whose mission is to advance liberty and the libertarian philosophy.
Regularly writes for the Foundation's monthly journal.
Noted speaker on libertarianism.
Established presidential exploratory committee in April 1999; terminated committee on June 16, 1999.
Career Has served three terms on the platform committee of the Libertarian Party and was the keynote speaker at the party's 1996 national convention.
In 1989 founded The Future of Freedom Foundation.
In 1987, left the practice of law to become director of programs at The Foundation for Economic Education in Irvington-on Hudson, New York.
Trial attorney for 12 years in Laredo and later Dallas; was also an adjunct professor at the University of Dallas, where he taught law and economics.  Served on the board of trustees of the Laredo Legal Aid society and was the local representative for the ACLU.
Activities Has co-edited, with Richard M. Ebeling, several books published by the Foundation: The Dangers of Socialized Medicine, The Case for Free Trade and Open Immigration and The Failure of America's Foreign Wars.
Military Infantry officer in the U.S. Army Reserves for eight years.
