Hatch Presidential Exploratory Committee, Inc.
Mac: Tomorrow morning at 8 a.m., send it in.
Ron Boone: It's your check for $36 for Orrin Hatch for President. Here's mine.
Norm Bangerter: And mine. For 24 great years for Utah.
LaVell Edwards: Here's my $36. Where's yours?
Ron McBride: One for me and one for my wife!
Bruce Summerhayes: Just think, if we each send in $36 we can change history.
Mr. Mac: Remember this. No one cares the way Orrin cares. Absolutely no one.
Lt. Gov Olene Walker and Jazz Asst. Coach Phil Johnson: Nobody!
|Background: Hatch is running what he calls
a "skinnycat" campaign. Here's some background on that campaign from
the Hatch website:
"On July 1, 1999, the day Senator Hatch announced he was running for President, another candidate announced he had already raised $36 million. Just before Senator Hatch's press conference officially starting his campaign, Michele Hodgkins of Salt Lake City pulled out her checkbook and wrote a check for $36. 'Now,' she said, 'if one million people do this, you'll have the same amount as the candidate with all the money.'"
