|September 4, 2007--Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) spoke at the
Alliance for Retired Americans' 2007 Legislative Conference. "People
and their problems are not invisible to me," Clinton stated. She
vowed to be "a president who sets big goals for America." Clinton
highlighted five points: strengthening the Social Security Trust Fund,
passing the Employee Free Choice Act, "going back at universal health care,"
working to ensure that people can retire with dignity and comfort, and
addressing fraud and abuse targeted at seniors, for example in the area
of long-term care.
