Gray Sasser
(elected Jan. 2007; previously served as legal counsel for TNDP for four years)  At the time he was elected, Sasser was an attorney with the Nashville office of Miller and Martin, PLLC.  Associate at Vinson & Elkins L.L.P. in Houston and Beijing.  A.B. from Princeton University, 1991; M.Sc. in economic history from the London School of Economics, 1994; J.D. from Vanderbilt University, 1998.  Son of former U.S. Sen. Phil Bredesen, focusing on special projects and outreach.  Campaign manager for Congressman Lincoln Davis' 2004 re-election.  TN political director and GA field director on John Edwards' presidential campaign in 2003-04.  Field director on Bredesen's successful 2002 gubernatorial campaign.  Worked in the Tennessee House of Representatives.  A regional field director for the Missouri Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign in Kansas City in Fall 2000 after serving as a regional field director for Gore 2000 during the primary season in New Hampshire and Texas.  Degree in History from Vanderbilt University, 1999.

Freda Player
Ran for Metro Council District 19 in 2007.  Worked for the Service Employees International Union.  Voter outreach coordinator for the Tennessee Democratic Party through the 2004 election.  Master's degree in political management from The George Washington University, 2003.  Worked on Al Gore’s presidential campaign, worked with 100 Black Men, and operated an after-school program for students from grades 3 through 5 at Cora Howe Elementary School.  Graduate of Fisk University, 2000; she was student body president.

Experience includes program manager for marketing and special events for Pioneer Square Community Association in Seattle, WA.  Field manager and campaign coordinator for Fund for Public Interest Research.  Wells studied at Vanderbilt, then spent a couple of years in Seattle, then returned to Vanderbilt.
