I'm supporting Senator Obama because he has the judgment and the right kind of experience to lead America and change the divisive politics of Washington, DC. His message of hope and optimism resonates with all Iowans and Americans.
Senator Obama's background and belief in community action and grassroots organizing is important to me. During my campaign for the State House last year, I visited over 9,000 homes. That kind of personal interaction and coalition building, one person at a time, is how Senator Obama is running this campaign and will lead this great country. We all are part of the movement, and have a voice in and responsibility for its direction.
Senator Obama has the courage to lead on the important issues of our day – even when it is unpopular to do so. That's the kind of conviction and wisdom that our next president will need to unify America and tackle the challenges facing our country.
I am honored to join Senator Obama and all of you who believe in his
message of optimism, hope and change. I'm ready to roll up my sleeves here
in Eastern Iowa and wherever else I can, to do my part to make those personal
connections and help elect Barack Obama our next president. Come along
and join me and I hope to meet many of you along the way.
