On March 20, 2006, President Bush signed H.J.Res. 47, increasing the public debt limit by $781 billion from $8.18 trillion to $8.965 trillion.
House agreed to on April 28, 2005; Senate approved on March 16, 2006 (52 - 48).
 

On Nov. 19, 2004, President Bush signed S.2986, increasing the public debt limit by $800 billion from $7.38 trillion to $8.18 trillion.
Senate approved on Nov. 17, 2004 (52 - 44) and the House on Nov. 18, 2004 (208 - 204). 
 

On May 27, 2003, President Bush signed H.J.Res. 51, increasing the public debt limit by $984 billion from $6.4 trillion to $7.38 trillion
Deemed to have passed the House on April 11, 2003; Senate approved May 23, 2003 (53 - 44).
 

On June 28, 2002, President Bush signed S.2578, increasing the public debt limit by $450 billion from $5.95 trillion to $6.4 trillion
Senate approved on June 11, 2002 (68 - 29); House approved on June 27, 2002 (215 - 214, 1 Present).
