There were two major multi-candidate events in Iowa in August 2007.  Seven major candidates (Brownback, Huckabee, Hunter, Paul, Romney, Tancredo and T.Thompson) as well as the longshot Cox participated in Iowa Republican Straw Poll on the Iowa State University campus in Ames on August 11.  All nine major candidates participated in ABC-TV's "This Week" Debate at Drake University's Sheslow Auditorium in Des Moines on the morning of August 5.  Additionally all of the candidates took in the Iowa State Fair (Brownback, Paul-Aug. 9, Cox, Gingrich, Huckabee, Romney, Tancredo, and T.Thompson-Aug. 10, McCain-Aug. 14, Giuliani-Aug. 15, F.Thompson-Aug. 17).
