About the Vermont Democratic Party’s 2008 Delegate Selection process:

Vermont will have 23 delegates to the Democratic National Convention in Denver this summer. Of those 23 delegates, the ten District Level Delegates were elected at the State Convention in May—six delegates for Senator Obama and four delegates for Senator Clinton (proportionally based on the results of the March 4 Vermont primary). The ten District Delegates were elected by town delegates to the State Convention. Those Town Delegates were previously elected at the Party’s Town Caucuses held on March 22.

The ten District Delegates met June 7 to elect three At-Large Delegates, two Pledged Party Leader or Elected Official Delegates and one Unpledged Add-on Delegate. The remaining seven members of Vermont’s delegation to the National Convention are superdelegates: VDP Chair Ian Carleton, VDP Vice Chair Judy Bevans, National Committeeman Chuck Ross, National Committeewoman Billi Gosh, Senator Patrick Leahy, Congressman Peter Welch and DNC Chair Howard Dean.
