casualties. 2 Americans beheaded just this week. The
admits terrorists are pouring into Iraq.
In the face of the Iraq quagmire, George Bush's answer is to run a juvenile and tasteless attack ad.
John Kerry has a plan for success. Get allies involved. Speed up the training of Iraqis. Take essential steps to get a free election next year. On Iraq, it's time for a new direction.
John Kerry: I'm John Kerry and I approve this message.
|On the screen: Most of the ad is an
American flag background with text on screen.
Observations: This is a response to the BC '04 ad "Windsurfing." but it is also noteworthy as
the first of Kerry's ads to focus exclusively on Iraq.
The campaign also organized a conference call for reporters with Admiral William J. Crowe (United States Navy, Retired) and General Merrill "Tony" A. McPeak (United States Air Force, Retired) in which the two retired military men expressed "their outrage at the Bush-Cheney campaign's new, shameful television ad, which shows a blatant disregard for those fighting and sacrificing in Iraq through its lighthearted approach to the war and the deteriorating events on the ground."
In an interesting coincidence, the 527 group Progress for America Voter Fund also issued an ad with a windsurfer theme, "Surfer Dude," on Sept. 21/22.
