Welcome
The Center for Education and Human Services in Acquired Brain Injury invites you to explore our web site and learn more about brain injury, its effects, the need for education and other professional services, and how you can get involved with our programs either as a student, a donor, or as a community member.

Why?
Because…

  • 5.3 million Americans live with disabilities resulting from a brain injury.
  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is significantly under-reported by our special education system due to a lack of awareness among education professionals.
  • Traumatic brain injury frequently causes cognitive impairments that may lead to social isolation, school failure, unemployment, homelessness, and depression
  • George Washington University offers the ONLY professional preparation degree programs in the country in brain injury!
