VA Science & Technology Campus Directions & Parking
The George Washington University Virginia Science and Technology Campus is in Loudoun County, inside the University Center complex in Ashburn, Virginia. The Campus is conveniently located off Route 7, one mile west of Route 28, five miles north of Dulles International Airport, 12 miles west of Tysons Corner, and eight miles east of historic Leesburg. The campus is linked to Washington, D.C. via a highway network system that includes Route 7, I-495, Route 28, the Dulles Toll Road (Route 267), and I-66. Parking is free.
Driving Directions
New Traffic Patterns
Use Loudoun County Parkway (Rt. 607), North. This is now the only way to access the Campus from Route 7 due to new traffic patterns in and around University Center. The two traffic lights near the Campus were removed in conjunction with the opening of the Route 7/607 interchange. All traffic to Campus uses the new Loudoun County Parkway (Rt. 607) interchange.
Please Note: Directions created using MapQuest and related programs and GPS devices are not accurate as the new interchange opened recently. The turn from Rt. 7 onto Presidential Drive no longer exists.
From the East: D.C., Eastern Maryland (Rt. 7, Tysons Corner)
- I-66 West
- Exit 67 toward Dulles Airport (right lane exit, just past the Sycamore Street/Falls Church Exit)
- Follow signs for Route 267, To All Local Exits Keep right, following signs to 267 Toll West. (Do NOT veer left onto the No Toll Dulles Access Road – it is an express road to the airport)
- Toll booth to the Dulles Toll Road is $1.0
- Continue approximately 11 miles to Exit 9B, Route 28 North—Sully Road
- Exit toll booth, $.75, onto Route 28, Sully Road
- Drive approximately 5 miles, following signs to Rt. 7 West to Leesburg. There is a left lane entrance lane to Route 7; Merge with Route 7 traffic
- Exit Route 7 on right ramp for Loudoun County Parkway (607). Stay right on the ramp for 607 North and continue straight/slight right. Turn right at the stop sign onto George Washington Boulevard (when see signs for Springhill Suites and Lakeview).
Continue straight on George Washington Boulevard and follow directions below for different buildings.
Alternate Route From D.C./Reagan National Airport area
- Merge onto GEORGE WASHINGTON MEMORIAL PKWY N (Passing through DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, then crossing into VIRGINIA).
- Take the I-495 S exit on the LEFT toward VIRGINIA.
- Merge onto I-495 S/CAPITAL BELTWAY/I-495 OUTERLOOP toward ALEXANDRIA/RICHMOND.
- Merge onto VA-267 W via EXIT 45A toward DULLES AIRPORT (Portions toll).
- Stay on VA-267 W to Exit 9B, Route 28 North—Sully Road
- Exit toll booth, $.75, onto Route 28, Sully Road
- Drive approximately 5 miles, following signs to Route 7 West to Leesburg. There is a left lane entrance lane to Route 7; Merge with Route 7 traffic
- Exit Route 7 on right ramp for Loudoun County Parkway (607). Stay right on the ramp for 607 North and continue straight/slight right. Turn right at the stop sign onto George Washington Boulevard (when see signs for Springhill Suites and Lakeview).
- Continue straight on GW Boulevard and follow directions below for different campus buildings.
From West: Leesburg, Purcellville, & Points West
- Take Route 7 East toward Tysons Corner
- After passing Ashburn Village on your right look for a sign for Loudoun County Parkway exit. ***Please note this is a new traffic pattern. Presidential Drive no longer exists.
Building Addresses & Directions from GW Boulevard
Exploration Hall (formerly called Research 1)
20101 Academic Way, Ashburn, VA 20147
Exploration Hall will be the first building on your left. Turn left into Academic Way, and left into the parking lot. Exploration Hall is a four-story brick building set against the hillside.
Enterprise Hall (formerly called Building 2)
44983 Knoll Square, Ashburn, VA 20147
Take the second right onto Bridgefield Way (first right is into a retail/office complex), turn right onto Knoll Square, and left into the parking lot. The building entrance is on the lower level near the parking lot. Enterprise Hall is a large, rectangular brick building.
Innovation Hall (formerly called Research 2)
45085 University Drive, Ashburn, VA 20147
Continue straight on GW Boulevard. Innovation Hall will be the second building on your left. Turn left onto University Drive, left into the parking area.
Bus Transportation
