Please note that financial aid is not available for non-degree students, and you must pay any balance for a previous semester before you will be eligible to register.
Withdrawals & Refunds
Applications for withdrawal from the University or from a course after the registration period must be made in accordance with with procedures outlined under "University Regulations" in the sections, "Complete Withdrawal From the University" and "Adding and Dropping courses", in the University Bulletin. Semester tuition charges and fees for authorized withdrawals and changes in schedules will be refunded based upon the following pro rata schedule for the fall and spring semesters:
Foggy Bottom, Mount Vernon, and Virginia Science and Technology Campuses
|Withdrawal on or before the first week of the semester*||90%|
|Withdrawal on or before the end of the second week of the semester||60%|
|Withsrawal on or before the end of the third week of the semester||40%|
|Withdrawal on or before the end of the fourth week of the semester||25%|
|Withdrawal after the fourth week of the semester||None|
|From the day of the first class until the day before the third class||90%|
|From the day of the third class until the day before the fifth class||50%|
|On and after the day of the fifth class||None|
NOTE: If the change in the program results in a lower tuition charge, the refund schedule above applies to the difference. Authorization to withdraw and certification for work done will not be given to a student whose account is in arrears or encumbered.
In no case will tuition be reduced or refunded because of absence from classes.
