Training Opportunites
- Instructional Technology Lab (ITL) - The ITL provides workshops, demonstrations, and individual and group hands-on training to help faculty enhance their instructional technology skills. Topics include MS PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat and much more.
- Center for Career Education (CCE) - The CCE provides a series of professional certificate programs which help students develop skills and build credentials to meet the demands of an increasingly complex and competitive work environment. A variety of computer and technology classes are offered to those interested in continuing their career education.
- Gelman Library - The Gelman Library offers workshops to students and faculty on ALADIN, doing web research, study area websites, detecting cyber-cheating and much more.
- Himmelfarb Library - The Himmelfarb Library offers workshops to the Medical Center on MS Windows, Word, PowerPoint Access, and Excel, GroupWise, HTML, EBM Health Databases, MEDLINE (OVID) and much more.
- Employee Training and
Development - Offers a wide variety of courses and seminars that help employees of the University enhance their job skills. Workshops include topics such as customer service, effective writing, time management, general office skills, employee orientation, workshops for new managers.
Administrative Applications Software Education and Training (SET) - The SET team provides training for desktop applications, the Enterprise Accounting System (formerly known as Oracle Financials Systems), and Banner applications.
- Banner Training - SET provides training and job aids on Banner (the system that maintains GW's information on applicants, students, alumni, student accounts receivable, financial aid, and human resources) for GW faculty and staff.
- Enterprise Accounting System (formerly known as Oracle Financial Systems) - SET provides classroom training and other learning aids to help GW faculty and staff understand and use the Enterprise Accounting System.
- Desktop Applications Training - SET's Desktop Applications training includes free introductory end-user training to staff, students and faculty on the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc), LISTSERV, HTML, Netscape (Navigator, Calendar, Composer & Messenger), and Windows and Macintosh operating systems. More in-depth courses, offered by training partners for a fee, can also be accessed from the Desktop Applications Training site.
- Web Based Training - SET's Desktop Applications training includes self-paced computer-based courses that are accessible from any on-campus computer. Courses cover all Microsoft Office software as well as Windows for end users, and a wide variety of topics for technical users.
