Research Internships

Geology majors often participate in geological internships and undertake theses. These allow them to work directly with faculty members as they undertake significant research projects that typically lead to publication and/or presentations at professional meetings.

Geography professors Marie Price and Lisa Benton-Short recently published Migrants to the Metropolis: The Rise of Immigrant Gateway Cities, a collection of 13 essays examining urban migration worldwide.

Semesters Abroad

Through partnerships with universities in France and French-speaking countries, the program prepares students for what many consider a highlight of their college education: a semester or year of study abroad.

Visiting Artists

The Visiting Artist and Scholar Program provides students with opportunities to interact with innovative creators and thinkers from across the country. Recent visitors include Mungo Thomson, Kerry Tribe, Joan Kee, Anne Wagner, Meredith Martin and Walead Beshty.
