The graduate certificate addresses the theory and practice of educational technology, including key characteristics of different media and the design, development and use of multimedia resources in education and training settings.

Students who complete the Integrating Technology into Education Certificate will:

From the assessment of needs and the analysis of learning objectives to the rapid-development of instructional materials and their evaluation, the certificate program prepares students to apply the theories, principles, models, tools and techniques of systematic instructional design in diverse organizational settings.

Organizational Learning and Change

This certificate provides an in-depth understanding of how a learning focus helps organizations improve their performance and create sustainable change. This is one of the largest programs of its kind in the United States. It is active in advancing research and practice within the human resource development field.

Individualized Program: Education and Human Development

The program is designed to meet specific career and professional objectives of applicants who have unique needs. Its flexible structure can be tailored to prepare for new and emerging fields in education and human development. The program consists of 36-credit-hours and is available within or across the three departments of GSEHD.

Incorporating International Perspectives in Education

The certificate program is designed for individuals with a bachelor’s or master’s degrees who are interested in learning about internationalization and how to incorporate global perspectives into curriculum, pedagogy, and school policy and practice.

Museum Education

Our graduates come from diverse academic and professional backgrounds. They qualify for positions in art, history or science museums; children’s museums; zoos; aquariums and historical societies or sites.

Multimedia Development

The graduate certificate provides students from varied professional backgrounds the knowledge and foundational skills required to plan, design, develop, implement and evaluate multimedia materials for instructional use. Students will have the opportunity to create a portfolio that demonstrates their skills in multimedia development.

Human and Organizational Learning

Human and organizational learning is an interdisciplinary approach that offers insights about people facing complex issues concerning individual and organizational effectiveness. The Doctor of Education in Human and Organizational Learning provides professionals, managers and consultants with a foundation in relevant theories, concepts and practices.

Leadership in Educational Technology

This graduate certificate—offered only online—provides students with the foundational knowledge and skills required to be effective leaders in an educational technology environment. Students acquire leadership skills. They also learn how technology can be effectively applied in their organizations. In this vein, they will be exposed to everything from software and hardware systems to the evaluation of sound educational technology software and implementation plans.

The 18-credit graduate certificate program enables students to acquire skills and knowledge in the areas of group processes, adult learning, organizational diagnosis and consulting strategies.
