Campus Dining

George Washington University Dining provides an exciting and innovative dining services program for the entire GWU community.  Their website provides nutritional information and health and wellness tips to help you eat well on campus.

Colonial Community (faculty and staff only)

Colonial Community offers a variety of programs and resources for GW faculty and staff to help them eat well and stay healthy. Offerings include ongoing walking programs, health screenings, and wellness discounts. 

Food Justice Alliance

A student group focused on food issues on campus. FJA has planted two community gardens on campus and has brought honeybees to the Mount Vernon Campus.

The Office of Sustainability

The Office of Sustainability provides a strategic home for sustainability initiatives on campus.  The Office partners with departments and groups on a variety of initiatives and programs around eating well including, the Grow Community Garden, the Urban Food Taskforce, Fresh Farmers Market, and the Food Working Group. 

Lerner Health and Wellness

Located at the corner of 23rd and G Streets, foot Lerner Health and Wellness Center is available for use by current George Washington University faculty, staff and students and provides a number of resources and services to help you eat well, including nutrition services/registered dietician and wellness Workshops.

LifeCare (faculty and staff only)

LifeCare is free for all benefits-eligible employees and their household members, regardless of whether or not you actually participate in GW's health insurance plan. Contact LifeCare via the web or phone to take advantage of a health resource library, wellness discounts, referrals, and more.

Student Health  (students only)

Student health offers ongoing programs for students around health and wellness. Including free blood pressure screenings, the Great American Smokeout, free HIV AIDS Screenings, study breaks, men’s and women’s health issues, and more.  Also check out Aetna Health Insurance which offers its members a number of free health programs including a weight loss program.

UnitedHealthCare (faculty and staff only)

A variety of health and nutrition resources are available for employees who participate in GW's employee health insurance plan through UnitedHealthcare (UHC). Log on to MyUHC for a free health assessment, nutrition and wellness discounts, personalized nutrition newsletters, and a resource library. 

Urban Food Taskforce

The Urban Food Task Force is an initiative of faculty, students, staff, and volunteers who share an interest in healthy eating, sustainable food production, and food policy.  Its mission is to identify and recommend ways in which the university might further support scholarship and instruction on sustainable urban food policies and related issues; provide practical information on, and training in, healthy eating and food preparation to interested students and the greater GW community; and offer healthy and sustainable food choices to students, faculty and staff.

 Weight Watchers at Work

Join the 17 Week Weight Watchers At Work Session at George Washington University. Weight Watchers is an ongoing program to help assist employees to eat healthier and reach a healthy weight.
