Related CollectionsWashington, which contains the Library of Congress and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, has always been an area rich in resources for Jewish research. During the years since the founding of the Judaic Studies program, the University's role as a center for Jewish research in Washington has steadily increased, and the Gelman Library collection in support of Judaic Studies has been growing to support that role. Even before acquiring Rabbi Kiev's collection, Gelman Library's holdings in the field of Judaic Studies were the most comprehensive of all the WRLC libraries. The number of titles we own in the area of Judaism are nearly three times as large as the other WRLC libraries, and nearly four times as large in the area of Hebrew and Yiddish language and literature.
