Find a Movie

Use it for:Finding a video or DVD at Gelman or Consortium libraries.

Why use it?Because you can watch hard-to-find titles and films required for your classes.

      Print It!

Step 1
Go to the Gelman Library website and to the ALADIN Catalog Quick Search box. If you have a specific title, just type the title.

Step 2
If you don't know the title, type a "keyword from the title or topic" of the movie you want, the word "AND," and "videorecording." Search as "keyword" instead of "title." Click on the picture to the side for an example.

Step 3
You'll get results for all the libraries in the consortium. If you want to limit your results to GW, click on "Post Limit" and choose George Washington University. You can't borrow videos from other consortium libraries, but you can go and watch the videos at those libraries.

Step 4
All videos are located in the basement at Gelman (B02) and can only be viewed at the library when Media Resources is open.

You can also browse the whole media collection in Room B02.

Argh!

Your movie is not at Gelman?

If it is available through the consortium, you can view it at the library that has it. As an alternative, you can request it through Interlibrary Loan and have it sent to Gelman, but you'll still have to watch it at the library.
