Students

Borrowing and Viewing Materials from the Media Collection
Students may use the viewing/listening room in B02 to view or listen to the items in the audio/video collection. Present your GWorld card at the Media Desk when charging materials out.

Viewing Items Not From the Media Collection
Patrons who wish to use media equipment to view or listen to non-library owned audio and video items for research purposes must submit a letter of authorization, signed by the course instructor, to the Media Resources Center on official GW stationery.

Faculty

Borrowing Items from the Media Collection for Previewing
Faculty may charge out materials for use in the classroom and for previewing purposes. A/V materials used in the classroom should be returned immediately after the class ends. Present your GWorld card at the Media Desk when charging materials out. Materials checked out for previewing have a 3-day loan period.

Teaching Assistants
Teaching Assistants serving as proxy for faculty should have a Faculty Authorized Borrowing (FAB) cardor a written request from the faculty member on departmental letterhead. FAB cards may be obtained at the Gelman Library Circulation Desk.

Borrowing Media Materials from Consortium Libraries
Faculty may request media materials from consortium libraries for preview purposes and for classroom viewing. To borrow media materials from consortium libraries, please place an Interlibrary Loan request for the title you need. Faculty members who anticipate using borrowed videos more than once, should contact their collection development librarian for possible purchase.
