Delivery
Books: If the book is available at Gelman Library or within the WRLC consortium, delivery time is usually about 1 week. If the book or article is not available at Gelman, we can obtain it from another library, but delivery time will be 2-3 weeks.
Books will be shipped by FedEx Ground to the address specified in this form. It is your responsibility to return the book to Gelman by the due date. The Library will pay shipping costs to deliver the book to you, but shipping costs to return the book to the Library are your responsibility. The due date and return address will be printed on a slip enclosed with the book (reminder: you can renew books up to three times online via your MyALADIN account!).
Return books to:
Gelman Library Circulation Desk
The George Washington University
2130 H Street NW
Washington, DC 20052
Articles: Typically, we will be able to send article requests to you electronically to your MyALADIN account for you to keep. Articles remain in the MyALADIN web delivery area for two weeks.
You will receive an e-mail with a link once it is available. If an article cannot be delivered electronically, a photocopy of the article will be mailed to you for you to keep. As with books, articles from GW or WRLC libraries will take less time for delivery (typically, you will receive them within a few days) than those retrieved from an outside library.
What you can request: To request books or articles, you will need to provide complete citations. We cannot respond to requests for books or articles on a particular topic.
Please remember to check the e-Journal Title Finder to see if an article may be available in a database online before sending in your request.
For dissertations: use this form if you wish to borrow a dissertation from another university. Many dissertations are also available online in full text via the Dissertations Abstracts database. Copies of a dissertation may be purchased through the Dissertation Express service.
