Statistical Abstract
Provides links to each section of the Statistical Abstract of the United States, 1997, a collection of statistical tables covering a wide variety of topics. Presented in Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF).

U.S. Census Bureau
Includes selected data from 1990 Census as well as press releases of current trends, selected historic data, and national population projections. Search by keyword or browse by topic. Also provices access to the Survey of Income and Program Participation, Current Population Survey, American Housing Survey, Consumer Expenditure Survey manipulable files, Current Industrial Reports, and extracts from County Business Patterns.

FedStats
A comprehensive guide to statistical information from over 70 federal government agencies. Browse by agency or topic or search by keyword. The search option indexes individual statistical tables by keyword or agency and covers only 14 Federal agencies (additional agencies are being added).

International Sources

Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)
Includes statistics on the 29 OECD member countries in many areas, including Agriculture, Demographics,Education, Energy, Environment, Finance, Health, Science & Technology, and Social Policy.

InfoNation
This service from the United Nations provides current statistics on 185 countries. Thirty-seven variables include: population, life expectancy, fertility, school enrollment, illiteracy, homicides, motor vehicles, GDP and labor force. Carbon dioxide emissions, threatened species, and energy consumption are among the environmental data.
