- ABC News
- Comprehensive news site with extensive search and browse features. Includes transcripts from selected ABC television news programs, including World News Tonight, Nightline, 20/20, and others.
- CBS News
- A full-featured news site from CBS which features video, audio, and text from the CBS nightly news program, Up to the Minute.
- CNN Interactive
- One of the best places to look for news on the Internet. Coverage is similar to CNN's television broadcasts and many images, sound files, and video clips are provided. You can search for stories, topics, and images in the CNN Search Engine. CNN Interactive focusses on current news, but also provides access to stories listed previously.
- Fox News
- Browse news stories by topic or search by keyword. This site does not provide transcripts of Fox television news shows (Fox News Report, Crier Report, Cavuto Business Report, etc.), but transcripts can be ordered for a fee.
- MSNBC
- The Web site for NBC News. Search and browse capabilities for current news stories, as well as transcripts from selected NBC television news programs, such as Today, Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, and Meet the Press.
- Television News Archive
- Provides abstracts of evening news broadcasts from ABC, CBS, CNN, and NBC from 1968 to present. Browse by date or search by keyword.
Radio News
BRS Radio Directory
Primarily a directory of radio stations, this site lets you browse by state, call letters, or format. Also provides a directory of international stations (primarily FM) and stations that broadcast on the Web.
Newspapers
- Washington Post
- Includes headlines and top news stories, as well as items from different sections of the paper (including Classifieds). Stories published in the past 14 days are available at no cost and can be searched from the Post home page. See the "Archives" to search for articles back to 1986; a fee is charged to view these articles online.
- Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe
- Indexes articles from national and regional newspapers and other sources, including magazines, journals, trade publications, legal sources, etc. Full-text is provided for most sources. Access is limited to GWU students, staff, and faculty and only from GWU campus locations.
