Treasures from the Jewish Cultural Renaissance in Germany, 1898-1938
This exhibit features works from the I. Edward Kiev Judaica collection.
Prior to World War II, there existed a period of rebirth and rediscovery
of Jewish culture and the Hebrew language in Germany. On display are works
from this era that The Gelman Library is fortunate to possess thanks to
Rabbi I. Edward Kiev's involvement in the Jewish Cultural Reconstruction.
This exhibit is on display in the Kiev
Collection and is also available online.

Changes in the ERIC Database
Several significant changes are taking place in the ERIC database, a major
resource for articles and other materials in education. From the ERIC
homepage:
From the ERIC homepage: "Beginning in January and until the new ERIC
model for acquiring education literature is developed later in 2004, no
new materials will be received and accepted for the database. However,
the ERIC database will continue to grow, as thousands of documents selected
by the ERIC clearinghouses throughout 2003 will be added. When the new
model is ready later in 2004, the new ERIC contractor will communicate
with publishers, education organizations, and other database contributors
to add publications and materials released from January 2004 forward."
By September 30, 2004, citations for January through August 2004 should
be available. In the interim, we suggest researchers use Education
Abstracts and ProQuest
General Reference to search for recent articles from education journals.
Other changes include the discontinuation of the ERIC microfiche collection
and the Ask ERIC research service. The ERIC Test Locator has closed; visit
http://ericae.net/testcol.htm
for links to alternative sources for test reviews.

Electronic Theses/Dissertations at GW
If you're a graduate student, consider publishing your thesis or dissertation
on the web through GW's Electronic Theses/Dissertations initiative, also
referred to as ETD. The idea is to make your thesis or dissertation available
in an electronic form so it's more readily accessible to scholars and
researchers in your field. The electronic format also opens up new possibilities
for interactive theses and dissertations. See Electronic
Theses/Dissertations@GW for more details and to register to participate
in the ETD initiative.
